    Illuminant - A NNTP-based Fediverse Server

    This is cool.

It is a Fediverse server you can use with a newsreader client like Thunderbird.

I’m not even sure *how* anyone without an account on the server already could begin to try it out. I, too, am not sure the gateway functions like
any Usenet user would expect. To my thinking, the “groups” should be based on hashtags, not the user’s info. But I suppose that does properly reflect the one dimensional nature of social media.
